Deputy Industry Minister Somchai Hanhira said he believed the latest increase in the Minimum Wage will not affect most industries in the country.
He said most industries will not be affected by the Minimum Wage increase as current daily pays may be already higher than that.
However, he was concerned about the industries which require a large number of workers such as the textile industry which, he said, might be slightly affected.
He added that the government has prepared measures to accommodate the adverse impact in advances such as reducing production costs and increasing productivity.
Industry Minister Uttama Sawanayon will discuss ways and means to help the affected SME entrepreneurs with the Thai Chamber of Commerce on January 29.
